Aubrey Bamdad
Born in Iran, raised in the US, lived in Hawai’i, Spain and India, then traveled the world over several times before calling the Peruvian Amazon home for the last 15 years. Aubrey Bamdad is a citizen of Gaia. Her body of work bridges the fields of Ayurveda, yoga and their corresponding Vedic technologies with traditional Amazonian medicine and the shamanic realms. She is a mother, writer, teacher, philosopher and visionary, as well as an Ayurvedic practitioner, yogini, and contemporary vegetalista with decades of immersive experience in these respective wisdom traditions.
Aubrey was born into a lineage of Unani medicine men and her path of studying indigenous systems of medicine activated while she was still in her teens. She has received advanced training in Western herbalism, Ayurvedic medicine and hermetic alchemy as well as initiations by lineage holding curanderos of the Peruvian Amazon. She has been the recipient of ongoing direct and personal instruction with her masters and teachers in Advaita Vedanta, the perennial science of attaining non dual states of consciousness. Part of her mentorship included over a decade in service to a living avatar. Performing austerities, selfless service and various spiritual practices have been an integrated part of her life for decades. Aubrey has made pilgrimages to sacred sites all over Gaia, and when she is not guiding initiates or being a pilgrimess herself, she practices bioregional mysticism in her verdant sanctuary of plants and animals located in the high jungles of Amazonia. The most profound transmission she has received to date arose spontaneously while living as an ascetic in the South of India, practicing mauna (silence) and wandering the holy hill of Arunachala. Without seeking anything external at all, she came to rest deeply in the internal awareness known as I AM. She remained stabilized in a state of undifferentiated consciousness for several months and even though she doesn’t abide in this state permanently, she still experiences tastes and glimpses which continue to inspire, direct and inform all aspects of her being. Self mastery is an ongoing process of refinement.
Aubrey is the creatrix of Qori Inti Amazonian Herbals, an globally recognized apothecary dedicated to the preservation of ethnobotanical wisdom and implementation of sustainable wildharvesting techniques, for which she also formulated and produced their product lines. She founded and currently directs the Sacred Motherhood Blueprint, an online school dedicated towards empowering women with tools to conceive consciously, savor pregnancy, birth courageously and raise children with awareness and in harmony with the natural order. She also co-directs Yacumaman Sanctuary for Integral Shamanism with her husband Dionisio Santos. Yacumaman Sanctuary is a mandala of activity, study and contemplation: part ethnobotanical garden, part eco-village and part reforestation project as well as the base for the practice and dissemination of the Integral Shamanism™ programs. Integral Shamanism™ is an interdisciplinary training system based upon the Integral model of consciousness evolution, designed to act as a catalyst for direct spiritual experience, and to provide the container and tools to ensure the integration and stabilization of such experiences.
